FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What's involved in outdoor padel court construction?

A full outdoor padel court build covers everything from initial site survey and ground investigation through to excavation, drainage, reinforced concrete base, court enclosure, playing surface, fencing, access gates and floodlighting. We deliver turnkey installations as SAPCA Approved Principal Contractors, so you’ve got one specialist team managing the whole project from start to finish.

How long does an outdoor padel court take to build?

Most outdoor projects complete within six to eight weeks, depending on weather and site conditions. Groundworks and base construction typically take two to four weeks, followed by two to three weeks for court installation and surfacing. We’ll give you a clear programme at the outset so you know exactly what to expect.

Do outdoor padel courts need planning permission?

In most cases, yes. Planning permission is usually required where floodlighting is involved, there’s a change of land use, or courts sit close to residential properties. Noise and visual impact are also key considerations for planners. We recommend engaging with your local planning authority early, and we can provide drawings, specifications and supporting documentation to help move applications forward.

What's the best surface for an outdoor padel court in the UK?

Artificial turf is the recognised standard for outdoor padel court installations in the UK. It’s purpose-made for the sport, with a sand infill that keeps the surface stable and provides the right level of grip. It drains freely, performs reliably year-round and is comfortable underfoot. We recommend it for the vast majority of outdoor installations.

What enclosure options are available for outdoor padel courts?

There are three main systems to choose from: full glass (panoramic) for premium facilities and tournament play; hybrid glass, which offers the best all-round value and is our most common choice; and solid panels, which are durable and well-suited to community use. We help clients work through the options based on their budget, intended usage and site.
