About the project
MAC Groundwork Contractors Ltd were proud to support Bradleys Surfacing Systems on the redevelopment of an unused tennis court into a modern, multi-use games area (MUGA) at Manor Farm Community Association in Walsall.
The association serves as a vital local hub, offering sports facilities and community resources to the wider borough. Our role was to provide essential groundwork, fencing installation and assistance with the final stages of synthetic surfacing.
Carrying out the work
Working under Bradleys Surfacing Systems as the main contractor, we delivered site preparation and foundational works to ensure the new facility was structurally sound and ready for surfacing.
Our team carried out all initial groundwork, including levelling and substrate preparation, followed by the installation of rebound fencing to a height of 3 metres.
We supported the final surfacing phase with additional labour and technical assistance, helping Bradleys deliver a consistent, high-quality finish across the entire 550m² area.
Groundworks
Preparation of the site for surfacing.
Base formation and levelling for synthetic turf installation.
Fencing
Installation of new 3m rebound fencing around the full perimeter.
Surfacing support
Labour and technical assistance during shock pad and Evo Pro synthetic turf installation.

The final result
The upgraded MUGA now offers a high-performance, multi-sport surface suitable for football, tennis, netball, and hockey. With new lighting and secure fencing, the facility is accessible for longer hours and a wider range of activities.
MAC Groundwork Contractors were pleased to play a key supporting role in delivering this transformation, helping ensure the site can serve the community for years to come.
